Industrial DevelopmentConsidering the size of Cuba (about 3000 residents), the Industrial park has grown rapidly during the last 20 years. One reason is that Cuba residents have a growth attitude. A second reason is its location on Interstate 44 (East/West) and State Highway 19 (North/South). The hard working and dedicated workers here enjoy the warmth and serenity of the rural life style. The companies locating here have benefited from important financial incentives as well as anywhere in the midwest states. Our economic development coordinates would love to show any business executives the advantage of locating new or expanding facilities in this area. Please call Norman DeLeo at (573) 885-4323. Cuba Enterprise zone provides strong financial incentives for industry to operate plants in this area (tax credits and abatements from the state, Cuba, and Crawford County). It was established in 1986. Firms hiring employees residing in this zone earn tax benefits and job training credits. The original industrial park has nearly reached capacity. Many of the factories have expanded since the original structures were occupied. Cuba is planning a second large area for industrial growth. Interested executives may tour the industrial park areas, retail business sectors, school facilities and residential developments in Cuba. Important municipal services like electric power, natural gas distribution, central well water systems, airport, liquid and gas fuel supplies, solid waste disposal facilities and high capacity liquid waste sewer plant can be added to the tour. Other important local services for industry are: GTE telephone, several interstate truck lines, bus lines, Burlington Northern rail lines, air freight connections, medical clinics, optometrist office, dental clinic and local ambulance service.
